Following the firm’s involvement as a member of the consulting team for Bellingham’s Comprehensive Plan, JGM was retained to prepare a streetscape plan for improvements to the central business district (CBD), encompassing a nine square block area. Specific elements included parking layout, curb alignment, sidewalks and plazas, street furniture, graphics and color selection.

Revitalization gave the CBD an appropriate visual identity, a strong pedestrian orientation, an increase in parking areas and a well established basis for further improvements. This project received design awards from the WASLA, Timberform, the Washington Aggregate and Concrete Association and the Washington Roadside Council.
