WHITE RIVER TRAIL - AUBURN, WA

The White River Trail Master Plan provided for parallel hard-surface and soft-surface trails connecting Game Farm Wilderness Park on the east with A Street Southwest on the west. Once completed, this 3-mile trail established an important east/west route for pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians. Further connections to Game Farm Park, the Lakeland Hills Trail, three new Auburn schools and the Interurban Trail makes the White River Trail a significant resource for Auburn and adjacent King County areas.

JGM produced the construction drawings and oversaw the construction of the 1.25-mile length of the White River Trail. This trail section links Auburn’s Roegner Park and Game Farm Wilderness Park, both also designed by JGM. This trail construction includes one bridge over a stream, an under-crossing of a state highway bridge, several culvert crossings, and wetland mitigation.

Ted Wall was Principal-In-Charge and lead master planner for this project. Craig Lewis was project manager and was responsible for the construction documents and all permitting. Significant involvement with the state Department of Fisheries was required because of ESA issues. Mr. Lewis was also responsible for construction administration.
